(Tale of) The Night Support Assistant
87th St and Farley St
Overland Park, KS 66212
This is a different kind of job. There is no doubt about that. You will have fun. You will be challenged. You will have a great boss. You will get frustrated. You will get to make a difference. These are all the things I've heard through the grapevine from past assistants. Mind you, I have little idea what a grapevine looks like, and how gossip may or may not get through it, but it's what people say nonetheless, right?
So you're wondering what you have to do, I bet? Well, there's this cool guy Jason - he's 38, loves classic computer games, board games, Legos and Doctor Who - and has Muscular Dystrophy and his body can't do much of the physical day to day stuff. This is where you come in. You will help him with any tasks he can't do for himself, until he's ready for bed. Stuff like - getting snacks, drinks, plugging in electronic devices to charge, organization, putting stuff away, and helping him reposition in his wheelchair. Then when he's ready for bed you'll help him go to the bathroom, and then - and here's the most important and challenging part - position him comfortably in bed. Then you can sleep (or not), until he needs help again.
So, you're wondering what are the requirements are for this amazing opportunity? Luckily, since I'm all knowing, I can tell you. Without further adieu - REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lived at least 18 years of life. (Sorry, no 18 y/o undead applicants)
2. Be in good physical shape. You don't have to be like Vin Diesel, just able to lift an 135lb human. Low center of gravity helps. Ability to do low squats is key.
3. No trouble. You will have to pass a background check.
4. Light sleeper. If you've been told you sleep like a rock, it probably won't work.
5. Not for the squeamish. You have to be cool with nudity, bodily functions, and personal care tasks.
6. Human of any gender. Sorry, no aliens.
By now you're thinking, "Wow, this jobs sounds amazing, I would totally do it for free.". But you also want some extra spending money to buy those pink yoga pants you've been eyeing. Lucky for you -
This job pays $12.00 an hour. I also want to assure you this is a very real (and serious) job. You must be eligible to work in the good ol' USA, and pay taxes like all good upstanding citizens! Jason is looking for an individual to work 3 nights a week from 10:30pm to 7:30am.
"Where do I sign up!?" you are asking. Click the apply button and tell Jason Wally sent you!
