Job Description
Title: Tool Repair Technician
Reports To: Service Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
On-the job training provided; experience preferred but not required

JOB SUMMARY

The Tool Repair Technician is responsible for repairing different types of portable power tools, pneumatic tools and other light construction equipment like compressors and generators within the following brands - DeWALT, Porter Cable, Bostitch and Black & Decker in our Factory Owned Service Center.

The position requires an individual to be able to follow a standardized repair process which would include the diagnosing / trouble-shooting of the tool failure, identifying a solution and then repairing the product.

Set in a team environment, the position is fast-paced and challenging where a successful candidate would need to possess strong time management skills, able to complete tasks correctly in a timely manner and work efficiently to produce results.

On-the-job training is provided along with competitive wage, incentives tied to performance and career advancement within technician role and within the overall Service Center.

REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or the equivalent and/or work-related experiencePossess mechanical aptitude and demonstrate repair experience if applicableAbility to interpret mechanical diagrams, wiring schematics and printed servicing data;Knowledge of electricity principles and air flow as it applies to a power source for power tools;Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in power tools and equipment Be dependable, reliable and need minimal supervision;Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations;Possess the ability to meet and maintain daily/weekly/quarterly productivity goals without sacrificing quality;Result focused, goal driven and deliver results from an individual and team perspective;Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Maintenance & Repair:
Simple repairs to all portable electric and pneumatic tool, light construction equipment, & outdoor productsTroubleshooting tool failure--fully or partially disassembling unit to examine components for wear/defects and replacing parts that are worn or defectiveClient Relations:

Assisting with maintenance of shop equipment and maintains clean and safe work environmentInspect workplaces for safe working environments and report unsafe conditionsProperly inspect tools and equipment for safe operation prior to use, returning tools in good condition to appropriate storage area after useProcess Compliance & Administration:
Product testing completed repairs and ensuring quality of repairCompleting work orders using repair parts and labor to include pricing and pertinent customer informationComplying with all operating procedures & policiesManaging inventory by ensuring accuracy with parts and accessoriesPerform miscellaneous tasks as directed
