Job Description
Missouri
Office of Refugee Administration (MO-ORA) is seeking a full-time staff
member located in Kansas City, Missouri to develop resources for refugee
resettlement agencies across the state.


Duties:
Assist in the coordination of local community resourcesLiaise with local governments to support resettlement within communitiesDevelop statewide and local resource mappingDevelop community relationships for the benefit of local agencies in Western MOCoordinate cross-state relationships with organizations in Kansas for the benefit of refugees in both Kansas and MissouriBe responsive to requests for assistance from local resettlement agencies in Western MOParticipate in community activities benefiting refugees in the areaParticipate in monitoring local agencies in Kansas CityTroubleshoot local refugee issues in Western MOProvide programmatic oversight for RSS, set-asides and RCA when neededEngage with RSI sub-contractors and DESE staff in Kansas City for the benefit of RSI programs and studentsLiaising with funders and subcontractors in areas dealing with quality assuranceTraining staff at LRAs on programming, changes, best practices and efficiencyProviding technical assistance and training to LRA staffAssisting in evaluating Western Missouri programming and suggest changes to program design and structurePreparing monthly, quarterly, annual, and as needed reports as
requested Promoting coordination and planning among refugee service
providers and resettlement agencies to ensure the most effective
provision of service to refugeesPerforming other related duties and activities as appropriate
Job Requirements
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with at least one year of relevant work experience required or equivalent; prefer experience working in refugee services field or in public benefits program


Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to interpret and adhere to established policies and procedures; effective interpersonal and communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications, internet research and a high comfort level in working with computer systems; must exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the public, and in giving and obtaining information; must have knowledge of and the ability to adhere to confidentiality standards; must be able to focus on details and ensure accuracy in reporting and giving information; must be cordial in working under pressure and/or meeting deadlines; ability to follow tasks through to completion; must be able to work well both independently as well as part of a team; must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel out of town as needed; knowledge of the field of refugee resettlement
