CHARLOTTE STREET FOUNDATION SEEKS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
The Job Opportunity:
The Development Director is a key position that provides critical fundraising/development strategy, planning, and implementation, including all individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising, special fundraising events, direct mail, grant proposals, donor research, donor record keeping, and stewardship for the Charlotte Street Foundation. The position proactively cultivates relationships with current donors and audiences, and engages prospects to support the work of Charlotte Street Foundation through their active participation in and contributions to the organization. They will be responsible for cultivating a culture of fundraising with Staff and Board, and managing external communications with donors and potential donors.

·at least 5 years of experience in fundraising, including demonstrated expertise in individual fundraising, grant writing, and event-based fundraising·at least 3-5 years of management experience·excellent verbal and interpersonal skills·demonstrated commitment to the arts and culture field·experience measuring data and outcomes of events & campaigns to determine effectiveness·demonstrated positive outcomes from fundraising campaigns & eventsKey Responsibilities & Duties:
·Creates and executes annual Development & Fundraising plan and calendar·Manages and/or executes grant writing & reporting (25+ grants in a given year)·Manages fundraising related events (event planning, coordination of invitations/RSVPs)·Oversees fundraising related correspondence including phone call follow-ups, thank you contacts, pledge reminders and solicitation letters, e-blasts to contributors, etc.·Researches prospects for new grant funding, including sponsorships from businesses and corporations·Develops plan and manages stewardship of all funders, including those contributing in-kind goods and services·Develops & manages signature fundraising event, fundraising campaigns, or other special tactics as identified in development strategy·Monitors, tracks, and produces income reports, self-evaluates all fundraising initiatives·Represents Charlotte Street Foundation externally in attendance at events, discussions, fundraisers, partner meetings, etc.·Develops and delivers fundraising training to share skills with Startup Residents and individual artists·Develops relationships and broadens Charlotte Street Foundation’s network, while cultivating, enhancing, and expanding strategic partnerships·Collaborates with Executive/Artistic Director to research, plan, cultivate, initiate, and execute individual and major donor asks·Collaborates with Executive/Artistic Director to cultivate intentional relationships and guide board efforts to advance development and partnership goals·Tracks & reports income and Development related expenses for annual budgeting processTechnology Environment
Charlotte Street Foundation utilizes Apple computers, Microsoft Office 365, and eTapestry Donor Database.
Classification & Pay Range:
Full time, Exempt (FTE benefits including insurance available), starting pay set at $70k annually
