Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to become an integral part of our team! You will assist in the coordination and management of the Kansas City Business Unit's daily operations.
General Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute the staff and driver schedule on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
• Select, onboard, and follow up with drivers on new routes
• Meet/exceed KPI's for cost control, growth, courier and staff performance
• Assess Operations team and provide plans to address training needs
• Route tracking
• Maintain route detail documentation
• Responsive to driver issues within 1 business day
• Responsive to customer issues per our customer service rating system
• Weekend on call management rotation
• Submit monthly expense report – Due by the 7th of the following month
• Review and submit staff expense report – Due by the 7th of the following month

Specific Responsibilities:
• Quarterly one on one meetings with the Operations team and others as assigned
• Annual performance reviews for Operations team and others as assigned
• Maintain job descriptions for Operations team
• Counseling Operations team members
• Prepare agenda for weekly Operations Meeting
• Ensure Operations team is completing assigned duties on their checklist
• Complete weekly administrative settlement items
• New business implementation
• Help manage special projects
• Oversee every day scheduled coverage
• Oversee shift turnover notes and provide feedback to improve inter-shift communication
• Weekly/bi-weekly conference calls with high profile customers

• Complete manager checklist daily

Job Requirements
Qualifications:

At least 2 years of management experience
Strong analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all people (line-staff to CEO)
Capacity to make decisions in a high stress environment
Ability to prioritize competing demands and adjust as the day unfolds
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Available to be on call afterhours and weekends
May be needed to work 2nd shift and weekends
Bachelor's degree preferred
