Description Microbiologist -Temporary/lntern DeLaval, a global supplier of formulated sanitizers, topical disinfectants and detergents is seeking a Microbiologist to support our development of topical and hard surface cleaning and sanitizing products for the dairy farm and food processing industries. We have an opening for internship for a microbiologist at the BS or MS level. The candidate filling this position will have the opportunity to support product innovation through testing of experimental products. The individual will also participate as a microbiology expert for Proof of Concept for sanitizer Concept and Feasibility Study. Responsibilities: • Conduct routine germicidal efficacy tests in support of R&D projects: o EN 1040, EN 1276, EN 1656, EN 14349, EN 13691, AOAC 960.06 • Conduct basic microbiology techniques in support of R&D projects: o MIC, MBC, Time efficacy studies, MPN, etc • Prepare and maintain bacterial cultures • Issue weekly report on testing • Develop in collaboration with chemists, alternative methods to demonstrate product efficacy • Develop microbiology lab protocols specific to project as needed • Maintain safety protocols for microbiology lab
Skills Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications: • Possess a BS or MS in microbiology • Ability to accurately document results • Experience in writing SOP • Experience in working under GLP • Project management skills • Experience working in project teams • Strong oral and written communication skills
