Job Description
Job Summary

In collaboration with the Research Communication and Education Department, the Research Education & Training Coordinator will develop, maintain and update research education and training programs for the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute. In addition, the Research Education & Training Coordinator will design and establish metrics for which to measure and evaluate the success of the training programs. This includes working with faculty and staff to implement program goals to support and enhance the research enterprise at University of Kansas Medical Center.

Responsible for the coordination, promotion, staffing and follow-up of program events:
Research & Discovery Grand Rounds
Study Coordinator Training
Monthly Research Personnel Meetings
Other events, as needed
Help with projects by providing insight into training program development, design, and execution.
Develop, maintain and update training program and materials to reflect updated systems or processes.
Maintain and update distribution lists.
In collaboration with others, develop, maintain and update tracking system for training.
Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
Assist with Continuing Education (CE) program initiatives, specifically:
Gather financial disclosures and CV's from speakers
Update sessions in CE database with presentation title and speaker name
Enter onsite registration in CE database
Send out evaluations through CE database
Implement social media initiative(s).
Update PowerPoint slide presentations.
Draft department articles for the Research Institute newsletter and intranet announcements.
Maintain effective communications to achieve departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or experience equivalent to:

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field OR three years plus relevant work experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrate the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the position.

Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
Excellent/professional communication skills, written & verbal.
Strong customer service skills.
Able to prioritize workload based on current demands.
Ability to work independently and with internal departments on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications
Education and/or experience equivalent to:

Prior experience in a training role or capacity.
Prior experience working in a research and/or healthcare environment.
