Summary of Position
The Marketing Events Manager is responsible for planning and executing all fundraising, friendraising, and marketing events managed by the Development Department.; working in partnership with the Development and Communications team in writing and editing materials to promote the agency and its programs and events; and coordinating the receipt of in-kind goods for distribution to clients. This position reports to the Vice President of Development and Communications.
Essential Job Results
Events Management
Develops and implements unique fundraising strategies related to special events. Manage materials and signage needed for event production.
Creates and adheres to project budgets and timelines for special events by tracking and collecting funds raised. Monitors progress of registration, ticket sales and income goals and adjust plans as appropriate.
Works with Vice President of Development and Communications to create income and attendance projections for events.
Develops and implements recruitment plans and fundraising strategies (as applicable) for events.
Works with department staff to develop marketing messages for events.
Manages special committees for events by developing goals and objectives and leading towards successful completion of the established goals.
Identifies and solicits prospects for major in-kind donations for scheduled events. Handles on-site logistics for raffles and silent auctions.
Serves as main contact and negotiates with external vendors to coordinate goods and services for events.
Fosters strong working relationships with board and committee members, clients/families, donors, volunteers and staff.
Contributes to the strategic long-term vision of the agency by making innovative suggestions leading to efficiencies in events.
Performs continuous critical evaluation of events to determine if they are effective fundraising vehicles by conducting post event follow-up and following action steps.
Investigates new ideas for future events.
Seeks out opportunities for in-kind donations for programs and coordinates delivery and receipt of items.
Communications & Effective Relationships
Lead contact for donor database, oversees the record and acknowledgement of monetary gifts, in-kind donations, event sponsorships and volunteer hours.
Adheres to best practices for clear, effective communication in writing and editing materials.
Assists in the recruitment and cultivation of volunteers.
Assists in website management and the coordination of changes in content and design in relation to events.
Helps team in responding to information requests regarding the agency.
Additional Job Responsibilites
Effectively utilize agency technology to accomplish tasks. (Microsoft Office Suite; Google Mail, Calendar & Drive; eTapestry (or other fundraising software), program specific software and applications; printers/scanners/fax/phone).

Supports The Family Conservancy’s Strategic Plan and ensures accountability through successful implementation of assigned objectives where applicable.
As part of our Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) process, attends assigned meetings and contributes in a meaningful way.
Maintains confidentiality of all agency information, consumer nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI), as well as records directly or indirectly identifying any person currently or formerly receiving services from The Family Conservancy.
Maintains professional standards and technical knowledge through 15-clock hours of annual attendance at educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, informs staff and colleagues of the results of these activities.
Attends diversity training yearly. Application of knowledge will demonstrate awareness of the wide spectrum of socioeconomic, ethnic, racial and personal lifestyles/cultures found within the service populations. Employees are expected to apply knowledge gained from diversity training and to act in a sensitive, nondiscriminatory, professional manner.
Accepts, uses supervision, direction, consultation to maximize available resources in the completion of work duties.
Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective functioning of the department and to advance the mission of the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field required.
Minimum of three years' professional experience required.
Experience in Marketing or Promotions.
Individual must:
• Possess strong written communication skills including proofreading and editing with great attention to detail.
• Have the ability to work successfully within a team environment and collaborate with other professional staff.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for cultivating positive, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Drive
• Be able to use email and professional office equipment such as fax machines, copiers and scanners.
• Be familiar with and adhere to the fund raising and/or grant professionals code of ethics.
• Exercise good judgment in developing and following policies and procedures and in providing service through The Family Conservancy.
• Speak, read, write and hear English to communicate with community members, consumers, co-workers and others.
• Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.
• Be available on evening and weekend dates to fulfill job duties.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Documented success planning, scheduling, managing, implementing, and evaluating events preferred.
Experience cultivating relationships with business leaders preferred.
Demonstrated work with committees and volunteer boards preferred.
Experience using design applications such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Demonstrated customer service or client relation skills preferred.
Reporting Relationships and Principal Contacts
Reports to the Vice President of Development and Communications. Principal contacts include board of directors, individual donors, corporate supporters and vendors.
