Job Description
We are currently seeking a part- time Direct Support Professional to join our team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Teach individualized socialization and living skills to individuals having developmental disabilities through a culture of gentleness and respect.
• Develop and implement daily programs for each individual assigned in a team or 1:1 setting in regards to program goals, independent living skills, self-help skills, life skills, self-advocacy in learning preferences/choices/communication skills, and community integration skills as well as other goals as indicated in the individual’s annual plan.
• Complete all documentation requirements timely and accurately by either utilizing computer system, Therap and/or hand written methods as indicated by supervisor as required by state regulation.
• Support program participants with personal care needs such as toileting, assistance with lunch, ROM, sensory needs, using Hoyer lifts, etc.
• Follow the daily schedule as prepared by supervisor.
• Attend mandatory trainings at designated location as set forth by the Training Coordinator.
• Maintain a positive professional attitude with staff, individuals, support agencies and the public.
• Follow all policies and procedures for the organization and sign off on policies annually.
Job Requirements
• Must have valid driver’s license,
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• C.N.A. certification preferred
• The position is working with adult persons having developmental disabilities; must be a positive person willing to be a valued team player
• Must be able to use the computer for documentation/charting, implement training goals for persons served, implement positive
gentle/loving care environment for wonderful program participants

Developing Potential is a nationally accredited CARF Day Habilitation program that began providing support services to adults with developmental disabilities in Jackson County in 1993. DPI’s program focuses on building strengths, fostering independence, changing lives, and developing potential. This mission drives DPI’s program services and the commitment DPI has to helping individuals achieve an adult, dignified lifestyle.

Today, DPI continues to grow and the program continues to evolve to meet the needs of families throughout Jackson County. We are interested in employing people who want to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
