Job Description
The Assistant to the Medical Development Leadership Team provides significant administrative support and development coordination to medical center fundraising management staff: The Vice President, Associate Vice President and the Assistant Vice President for Medical Development. This position is located in Kansas City, KS. Responsibilities include: assisting the leadership team with day-to-day work routines to include projects, travel, donor meetings and other development duties. Builds strong relationships and works closely with other Development support staff, KU Medical Center staff, and others. Creates and modifies reports to be used by the leadership team. Provides quarterly reports to track progress on individual and team goals. Prepares correspondence, reports, materials and other documents. Prepares and maintains files and confidential records. Serves as a cooperative member of the support staff team, providing relief and working on special projects as needed. Acknowledges gifts and regular follow-up to donors, University administration and special interest groups. Additional responsibilities are listed on our website.
Job Requirements
Requires three to five years of administrative support experience, excellent writing and communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with KU Endowment personnel at all levels and with guests and visitors, ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions with only limited administrative instructions. Prefer college degree and background in fundraising, higher education, communications or related field. Experience in maintaining confidential files, preparing reports, correspondence and other documents, and proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
